Dr Toni Kealy

Veterinarian

Dr. Toni has been a dedicated member of the Northern Rivers community for many years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honors) from The University of Sydney in 1996, she returned to the region in 2000 and worked as a small animal veterinarian in Lismore, Ballina, and Lennox Head. Her passion for the welfare of wild animals and their conservation led her to expand her expertise into wildlife care, initially treating injured wildlife brought to her practice. The opening of the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, a facility 100%  dedicated to treating  Australian wildlife gave Dr Toni an exciting opportunity to expand this interest further, so when offered a position she jumped at the chance. Although transitioning from domestic animals to wildlife has been a steep learning curve, she’s relishing the challenge. With a deep love for Australia’s unique marsupials, the conservation of species like the koala fuels her unwavering  commitment  to working in this vital  field. She feels there is nothing more satisfying than seeing an injured animal return to the wild.
