Southern Cross Credit put their money where their heart is

Southern Cross Credit Union CEO Stuart Edwards presents a cheque for $20,000 to support Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and Sanctuary.

We’re thrilled to announce a 3-year partnership with Southern Cross Credit Union.

“It is important for Southern Cross Credit Union to get involved in the projects that matter to those in our community, “ said SCCU CEO Stewart Edwards during a recent visit, pictured above at left with Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital Founder and CEO Dr Stephen Van Mil.

“Having seen first-hand the impact BBWH have had in treating over 3000 wildlife patients in their first two years of operation, SCCU recognised the need for a longer-term partnership,” he continued.

The local credit union not only financially supports the hospital, but they have also helped expand the koala enclosure at Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, provide enthusiastic volunteers to assemble wildlife car rescue kits and participate in fundraising events throughout the year.

‘We’re extremely grateful for Southern Cross Credit Union’s support,” said Dr Van Mil. “We’re honoured to work with a financial institution like SCCU who have a genuine commitment to their community and the environment.”
