Women Helping Wildlife on International Women's Day
Our region has been devastated by a flooding catastrophe of unimaginable scale. Our hearts are with the people who have lost lives, loved ones, homes businesses, pets and cherished memories. We stand in solidarity with our friends, neigbours and our community and call on Australian governments to act swiftly with financial assistance, counselling and support to start the long road to recovery. Until this happens, the engine room of recovery is good people helping people, and now, helping wildlife.
Our hearts were warmed today with a visit from WIRES Emergency Responders Lucy Clark and Kyana McPherson, seen here with Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital Vet Nurses Louise Napoli and Hayley Farley. We collaborate closely with wildlife rescue organisations including WIRES to provide triage, treatment and care for injured, sick and distressed wildlife.
It makes us proud that on International Women's Day, these four women are among many working at the centre of the flood-impacted region in NSW to help save wildlife. We salute you!
