Maddy Meredith
Veterinary Nurse
Maddy is a relatively new veterinary nurse, having joined Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital in 2023 as part of completing her training in Wildlife Veterinary Nursing. Maddy is no stranger to the Wildlife Hospital team, having volunteered with BBWH for over a year, contributing significantly and learning valuable skills from the team.
Maddy has been a volunteer wildlife carer with local rescue organisations for several years rehabilitating many species. Her exceptional passion for the welfare of all native animals is extraordinary, in particular her instinct and skills for raising mammal joeys, earning her the title of ‘joey whisperer.’
“I feel privileged to be a part of the treatment of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife as a vet nurse and wildlife carer. As I gain more experience and the hospital continues vital work for our native animals, I hope we can make a positive impact on the future of our environment and those within it.”
