Together with our awesome partners at Australian Seabird Rescue, we released Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital’s first patient, ‘April’ the Green Sea Turtle back into the ocean after a full recovery. April was operated on in late September by expert wildlife veterinarians Dr Bree Talbot and Dr David Blyde after ingesting a large piece of marine rope.
“It’s so exciting to see the hard work, the teamwork that everyone has done together to get her out, and so I feel really really proud of this moment,” Doctor Bree Talbot from the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, said.
This represents the mission we set out to achieve: work in partnership with wildlife care groups, provide expert veterinary treatment, care and rehabilitation, and then release native animals back into the wild where they belong.
