Dr Jade Cook

Veterinarian
BVSc

Dr Jade graduated with honours from The University of Queensland in 2019. During her studies, she worked as a veterinary nurse at an exclusively avian veterinary clinic which began her passion working with native birds.

Upon graduating, Jade moved to Tasmania where she had an amazing opportunity treating Tasmanian wildlife, including the Tasmanian Devil, Tasmanian Wedge-Tailed Eagle and other endemic bird species at Bonorong Wildlife Hospital. In 2022, Jade moved back to sunny Queensland to take up a position as a Wildlife Veterinarian at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. Here she had the opportunity to contribute to saving the lives of Australia’s critically endangered koalas.

We welcomed Dr Jade to the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital in 2023. She is dedicated to providing a high level of care to all Australian wildlife, and as a self-certified crazy bird lady, finds supporting our bird patients through to their release a highly rewarding part of her job.
