Dr Helen Cahill

Veterinarian
BVSc

Dr Helen’s passion for wildlife and the natural world began at a young age, growing up rurally on the Far South Coast of NSW surrounded by national park and a huge variety of wildlife. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and then worked at various mixed and exotic animal practices all over Australia. After the Black Summer bushfires of 2020, she was inspired to take action in conserving nature and wildlife in Australia, finding her calling in conservation and wildlife medicine. She has since completed a Master of Veterinary Studies in Conservation Medicine and a course in Project Management for Wildlife Conservation. She has been a dedicated veterinarian at Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital for two years. “I feel honoured to be a part of the organisation working with such an incredible veterinary team and a wonderful community of wildlife carers, making positive change for wildlife in the Northern Rivers.”
