Stan the Wedge-tailed eagle released

After five months of collaborative rAfter five months of collaborative rescue, treatment and rehabilitation, Stan the Wedge-tailed eagle was released into the wild near Stanthorpe, where he was found unable to fly almost five months earlier. Special thanks to the Moore family who drove nearly four hours to bring Stan in for the care he needed, WIRES Northern Rivers raptor specialist Melanie Barsony for her tireless work rehabilitation Stan, the landowners and construction funders of our newly opened Byron Bay Raptor Centre, where Stan’s recovery was accelerated by being able to fly continuously in a large, round aviary, and ABC North Coast for helping tell Stan’s story.
