Dr. David Blyde
David is a world-class veterinarian and is currently head of Seaworld’s Research & Rescue Foundation. He has had a rich and diverse career including Clinical Veterinarian at Taronga Zoo and Western Plains Zoo. He was admitted to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 1992 and is currently president of the Zoo and Wildlife chapter.
David is a member of various bodies including the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians, the Australian Veterinary Association, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the Australian Institute of Management. He became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1998. David is also an adjunct professor at the University of Queensland. He is the president of the Queensland division of the AVA and a member of the Griffith University animal ethics committee.
